ReacTech Inc.

Company

ReacTech was incorporated in 2001 by Dr. Frederick Krambeck  as a vehicle for consulting in the areas of mathematical modeling of refinery and petrochemical processes, optimization, process development, process scale-up and research strategy. Dr. Krambeck has over 30 years experience at Mobil Oil Co. and ExxonMobil Co. in the petroleum refining area, in both technical and management roles. He has over 60 patents and publications and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Clients of ReacTech have included ExxonMobil, DuPont, Arkema, and Rive Technology.

At about the same time Dr. Krambeck became a Research Professor at Johns Hopkins University, initially teaching a graduate course in Chemical Kinetics and Reactor Design. Contact with the faculty at JHU led to the realization that the methodology used to model refinery processes with large-scale reaction kinetics could also be applied to glycosylation. This led to a collaboration, initially with Michael Betenbaugh and subsequently also with Kevin Yarema, to develop and advance this idea. The GLYMMERTM software system grew out of that collaboration.

The objectives for ReacTech Inc. have now been expanded beyond the initial consulting services model to now include software development and licensing. The GLYMMERTM software forms the core of the Company’s product line.
